Typically, the choice of which Grex pinner to own can be narrowed down to either the P635 or P650L. If you're primarily working in the shop, building cabinets or furniture, then the 1-3/8" maximum pin length of the P635 is usually sufficient for all your applications. If instead you are involved more so with on-site installation work, such as baseboards and hanging ceiling crown, then you'll need the full 2" pin length capacity of the P650L.

For those that don't need all the features of the P635 and would like to save some money, then the P630 is a perfect alternative. It's a no frills tool, but still offers the same adjust-free magazine and ability to drive pins up to 1-3/16" long (just 3/16" shy of the P635's maximum pin length).

For those that want the versatility to drive longer pins, but don't want to pay the premium for a P650L, then the P645L is a great compromise. It's offered at a price point between the P635 and P650L, and has the ability to drive pins up to 1-3/4" long (just 1/4" shy of the P650L's maximum pin length).
